The origins of drama theatre in Vietnam in the 1920s.

Annotation: The paper dwells upon the first period of establishing of drama theatre (Kit Noi) in Vietnam in the 1920s under the conditions of French colonialism. The new theatre was the result of Vietnam’s cultural contacts with the Western culture and arts, mainly with mother country –France. The author examines in detail repertoire of the theatres and works of the first national drama playwright Vu Dinh Long, Nguyen Huu Kim, Vi Huyen Dac, Nam Xuong, Tran Dai Thu and others.
