Presidential elections in Indonesia

Annotation: The author analyses political rivalry between the two candidates for the post of the president of Indonesia, namely: Djoko Widodo, the representative of the Democratic Party of Indonesia (of struggle), and the retired general, Prabowo Subianto, the leader of “Gerindra”. The results of the parliamentary elections are analyzed with the winning candidate Djoko Widodo as well as the coalitions of political parties that nominated their candidates for presidency. The election programs of both candidates are observed in brief.
