Annotation: E. Astafieva considers the system of education in Singapore in the context of the nation building. She also studies the trends in the Singapore’s government policy in education since the independence of the country. The author describes the structure of the system of primary, secondary and higher education as well as vocational one. Great attention is paid to the problem of multilingualism and bilingualism.
