The Commonwealth of Australia on the way to Elections in 2013

Annotation: The paper traces main features of the contemporary situation in Australia in connection with the forthcoming federal elections in 2013. The problems facing the ALP government have been aggravated by the scandals with some of the Labor leaders being involved. Many domestic policy problems are still unsettled and the rating of J. Gillard and her cabinet is falling dawn. To improve the situation her government is taking measures which could be seen as very cautious and practically sure. These are the decisions to support the elder Australians and to withdraw Australian troops from Afghanistan. Despite the opposition activity J. Gillard is going to win in 2013.
