The success of the main political task proclaimed by Yingluck Shinawatra’s government – namely achieving national reconciliation is considered. The author describes the political scene, accesses parliamentary and non parliamentary forces involved in the Thai politics including political parties, mass movements, and groups of influence. She finally comes to the conclusion that political instability in the country is fanned by social rift in the society as well as deep economic disproportions and is still far from overcome.
