Annotation: Dr. Emma Gourevitch in her article «Singapore after General Election 2011» analyses some results of Parlamentary and Presidential Election and their influence on the social and political process. But in the author's opinion the main event was connected with the statement made by minister-mentor Lee Kuan Yew about his final leaving the political activity. Lee Kuan Yew name is nearly synonymous of Singapore. A determined Prime Minister for 31 years he transformed one time British fortpost in South East Asia into one of the most prosperous state in the world. E. Gourevitch stresses that Singapore achieved its progress under an authoritarian power and permanent ruling of the People's Action Party and though Singapore is an industrial developed city-state it didn't become a democracy center. But political system is changing step by step in that direction. Now Lee Hsien Loong an older son of Lee Kuan Yew and the third prime-minister in the Independent Singapore History has a chance to show what his governing style will be look like.
