Annotation: The author described general principles of the national and local taxation, the structure of national and local taxes, direct and indirect taxes. The emphasis has been largely made on corporate and individual income taxation and tax incentives of corporate and individual persons. The author characterized tax status not only of domestic corporations and individuals but foreign ones as well. The paper is based on various tax acts and other official documents and statistics of the government of the Philippines.
