The CPV attitude towards Vietnamese Catholic Church during the «renewal policy» (1986-2016)

Annotation: The topic of religious policy of the CPV in the 21st century remains one of the most complicated ones. It applies not only to a Catholic community, but to a Buddhist sangha, to a «new» religion – Caodaism, etc.However, the well-known events at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries, which changed the situation in the world, led to the proclamation of the «renewal policy» by the CPV. The article attempts to explore how this new policy influenced the CPV attitude towards the Vietnamese Catholic Church (VCC). It also elaborates on how the Catholic leadership reacted to this policy.
