Annotation: In the article the author gives an analyses of energy situation in Malaysia from 2006 to 2016. The author uses the experts' opinions to characterize the business activities of PETRONAS in the oil and gas, liquefied natural gas and electricity sectors in Malaysia and other countries. The author shows the development of the oil and gas industry in Malaysia, the resource base of hydrocarbons in the country and its change, the exploration and production of oil and gas, their export abroad, the development of petrochemicals and refining, pipeline transport and tanker fleet in this country, whose energy leader is PETRONAS. Also, the company's foreign operations are analyzed in more than 30 countries of the world (in the Asia-Pacific region, Africa, Europe, North and Latin America, the Caspian region and Central Asia, etc.).
