South China Sea: A Big Storm Passed by. Tug of War Game

Annotation: The article is devoted to the analysis of the confrontation between the Chinese and Vietnamese naval forces, which takes place in one of the disputed areas in the south part of the South China sea. It began in July 2019 and continues with certain interruptions. Only the scantiest information can be found about it, which is incomparable to the way the situation in the South China sea is being highlighted, when the Americans launch their next destroyer, which must intentionally violate the border of the forbidden waters introduced by China around the artificial islands that it built there and turned into military bases. The author concludes that the situation in the South China sea is a threat not only to regional but also to global peace. In this regard, it is obvious that the maintenance of peace and security in the South China sea is a common interest of countries both inside and outside this sea, including Russia.
