History Outlines: The Education System of the Philippines under the Americans and the Japanese

Annotation: The paper is dedicated to the history of the education system in the Philippines during the period of American rule in the islands, and subsequently during the Japanese occupation of the Philippines during World War II. The author touches upon such aspects as the implementation by the US authorities of the education reform in the American manner (the pros and cons are considered) within the framework of the political goals of the American government; then how the educational sphere changed during the Commonwealth period, what features were inherent in it during the 4 years of the Japanese military regime. Separately, the author touches on the history of the country's main university – the University of the Philippines.
