Russia's Policy on the conflict in the South China Sea

Annotation: The article is devoted to the analysis of Russia's policy in relation to the conflict in the South China Sea. The author points out that despite the invariability of Russia's approach to this problem, expressed in the position of non-interference, in the solution of the conflict on the basis of international law and exclusively by peaceful means, this unchanging formula is only an external framing of the real policy, in which the key problems facing Russia in the East were focused. The author's comparative analysis of Russia's approaches to the conflict in the South China Sea in the early and mid-2000s, as well as in the period 2014-2017, and nowadays shows impressive changes in its foreign policy in the East.
