General Election Campaign in 2018–2019 in Indonesia. Competitors and Specific Features

Annotation: Running in the presidential campaign 2018-2019 were the incumbent head of state Joko Widodo and retired general Prabowo Subianto, who lost elections to Joko Widodo in 2014. The incumbent president does not belong to any of the traditional political elite, and to a certain degree the outcome of the elections was to show the depth of the changes in the Indonesian society after the fall of the military regime in 1998. His rival during the campaign was supported mainly by radical Islamists.
