Annotation: The article puts the spotlight on the political development of East Timor over the last several years, which turned out to be very eventful and transformed into one of the most vicious scrambles for power since the declaration of independence in 2002. The author touches upon different aspects of the electoral landscape of East Timor, analyzes the reasons of the crisis and dwells upon the tactics of the leading political figures of East Timor.
