Annotation: This article is about a difficult, strange and complicated story of New Zealand chief Te Pahi, who once was the main hope of the British to establish good relationships with the New Zealand natives, and then he suddenly became the main suspect of "Boyd massacre" of 1809. We still do not know the full truth about those events but existing theories can be interesting to the readers.
