The COVID-19 pandemic in Cambodia: course and consequences
ЮГО-ВОСТОЧНАЯ АЗИЯ: АКТУАЛЬНЫЕ ПРОБЛЕМЫ РАЗВИТИЯ, 2022, №4(57), 216-230
Annotation: The outbreak of the coronavirus in Hubei province of China and its subsequent spread throughout the world dealt a serious blow to the global economy, disrupting supply chains, causing most countries to close borders to reduce the burden on their health systems, reducing tourist flows significantly, and leading to a global GDP decline of 3.4% by 2020, which is approximately $2 trillion. Cambodia also had to deal with the negative impact of the pandemic, but it passed relatively easily in terms of disease/death ration compared to developed countries such as the United States or Italy. This article will examine the characteristics of the spread of COVID-19 in Cambodian the authorities’ actions to control the situation, and the consequences with which the kingdom has entered the post-pandemic world.
