Tendencies of the Development of the Indonesian Mining Industry

Annotation: The author analyses a new policy of Indonesia in Mining Industry connected with the Law No.4/2009 on mining of minerals and coal that requires the processing of all raw materials inside the country starting the January 12, 2014 and its impact on national and foreign entrepreneurs in this field. The current conditions of major mining sectors concerning the fall of prices in international markets for minerals and coals are covered. The author also describes attempts of local and foreign companies to build processing plants in order to have a chance to continue the export of raw materials and an existance of some cases of a real industrialisation which primarily connected with the state owned company Antam.
