Annotation: The author follows development of political crisis in Thailand in 2013 - early 2014, stating that the fighting political forces failed to reach national reconciliation. Political deadlock lead to military coup d’état, which means the temporary victory for Taksin adversaries. The researcher analyses the nature of confronting political forces and their power base. Observing almost a decade of political unrest in the country she comes to the conclusion that it should be considered in the framework of geo-political rivalry between the US and China.
