India - ASEAN: twenty-five years later (the faces of relations and external factors)

Annotation: The article analyses the main results and problems in interactions between India and ASEAN during 25 years, as well perspectives of its development. The paper shows some new possibilities of its development in N.Modi course “Make in India”, “Digital India”, “Skill India”, “Smart cities”. Great attention is paid to strategic sphere and the role of India in SCS, where it belongs to the second echelon in containing China. Proceeding from its own interests in the world and interests of ASEAN, the USA strives to more active involvement of India, especially in SCS. In 2016 the US signed with India the LEMOA agreement and several military- technological arrangements (on the status of main partner, arms sales on the level of NATO and Israel etc.).
